We took advantage of the sunshine yesterday with a nice trip to visit my mom and do some hiking at
McDowell Creek Falls. The falls are named after Jack McDowell, a settler to the area. There are 4 waterfalls total inside this mossy rainforest with a short loop of 1.7 miles, or total of 3 miles. It was beautiful. A really great place to go have a picnic, and do some swimming. The park is actually protected by the county, and open year round. We plan to go back as soon as the weather gets good again. I would love to do some bird watching, and hiking in the spring. The wild flowers in itself is a reason to go back. Click
here for a map if interested in visiting the falls.
This is our adventure..
