I am happy to announce that I will be taking Dream State on
Full Time within the next couple of months! It is a dream come true! We have been on this property hunt for about 2 years now, and I am happy to say that it is all over. I will soon have time for more custom work, and all of the designs I have been wanting to do over the last year. Just in time for wedding season!
The hard work is about to pay off, and I am happy you are here to watch this journey from the hustle and bustle of city life back to the rural and peaceful Oregon coutryside.
YAY! So excited for you and Wayne! You will love it there! <3
ReplyDeleteI just stumbled upon your blog, and I love it! As a country girl I understand the charms of the country :) So happy for you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am excited! I can't wait to have an update. The transition is not going as fast as I anticipated.
DeleteI found your blog a couple months ago and it felt like we were kindred spirits. I've been going through the same struggle (almost a year now) trying to buy a house in the country to create a simple homestead for my husband and I. It just feels right to live off the land and be surrounded by nature.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finding a place! It looks AMAZING, seriously you are the luckiest girl in the world. I can't wait to see more pictures.
I'm in San Diego and the market for country homes is slim down here. We've come to the apex in our search where we are going to buy some land and build a cottage, but that's a long journey ahead of us.
I haven't written on it much lately (and I plan on starting a new one when we start building) but for now i'm at littlegreygull.blogspot.com
Thanks for sharing your journey!
We planned to build a cluster of tiny cabins if we didn't find the right house. It seems there is a million places out there but fining one with the acreage/utilities we wanted was the problem. The hunt sent us running all over Oregon, and took us years to find.. Keep hunting, and take advantage of all of those road trips. That way all of the dud trips will be worth it because you are having fun! :)
DeleteWhat an amazing place. My wife and I are in the search for the same thing. We sold our home in TX a week ago and will be up in OR on Sunday to see what we can do....Best of luck to you guys.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog not too long ago when I was trying to figure out how to sprout/grow ginger as I use it in so many things.
You are officially in Oregon right now then! Welcome! Enjoying our rare beautiful weather? What a great time to see the sights. I wish you luck on your search!
DeleteI found your blog from you ginger pinterest post. My husband and I are ALSO looking for land and I am super jealous of that property you've found omg. My husband and I are ready to buy any day. Could you message or comment me the realtor you used maybe, or the county? I know that's weird, but... I totally want an awesome property like that and on landandfarm.com I find things and they are sold before we can get up there (or to Washington). We are in San Diego, CA. I know, similarities to the commenter above. I am so jealous of your land!
ReplyDeleteOh we were looked at landwatch.com and had that same issue. We started looking directly on real estate websites like remax.com or windermere.com and started to have more success. Trulia.com & Zillow.com aren't bad sources either. What area are you looking to move to? Close to the coast? Wine Country? Outside a major city? Maybe I can help you find the right area you are looking for?!
DeleteI found your blog a few months ago (the ginger sprout post too!) and have checked in a few times since. Just decided to see how your land search was going and what wonderful news I found! I'm so happy you have finally found it and it looks like your patience has paid off! I'm so excited for you both- following your dreams! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am happy to be leaving the day job also. 8 more work days! I will have more time to pursue my endless amount of goals! I can't wait.. :)
