Manzanita Birthday Adventures

We are back!!

 This photo is what I ended up doing for Wayne on his birthday. I said I would do something cute since I only got to see him for half an hour. Wine, Banner, and a love letter. <3

 This is a recap of the last couple of days at Coast Cabins. It was wonderful, and as I expected went by way too fast. The bed was the comfiest thing I have ever touched. So comfortable- I took pictures of all of the tags so I can recreate this heaven at home. I also got in the hot tub twice, and havn't done that in years! The weather was perfect, and there were so many different kinds of birds chirping. I felt like we were really in nature. We saw a bald eagle pick up a crow, and take it to its nest. That's the second bald eagle I have seen in a month! We picked drift wood from Manhattan beach to create some projects.. Possibly to sell on Etsy. Wayne built a fire which he tended to for hours (Pyro), While I lounged in the sun with a rum and cranberry juice(drunk). Wayne surfed, we drank lots of coffee, made smores, got veggie pizza, went to the organic market, watched Wild Russia, and The Lincoln Lawyer.

Something I must add is they had smore kits, organic chocolate, and fruit in the cabin upon arrival. Also offered us any kind of beverage we would like and said we could take any bottle to our cabin. The owners really created a paradise, and know how to make you feel at home.

I want to do this all over again, but for a week! So expensive... Maybe we can Glamp instead!? I could lounge in a hammock with a book for a week and bird watch.

Oh and by the way.. I won't be posting for the next couple of days. It is our 2 night beach getaway at Coast Cabins starting tomorrow straight from work. I am packing my bags now. Sooo excited. I will post pictures of the trip as soon as we get back!!

It Is Wayne's Birthday Today!!

It is my wonderful boyfriends birthday today, and also the first day in a while that my schedule has changed for the worst. We have completely opposite schedules today and tomorrow. So I will see him for 30 minutes. I wouldn't call it a good day. I am going to hurry through this post and get cleaning the house. I'm going to do something cute so at least I will get a smile out of him when I am not around. I am thinking wine, a banner, and a card? Maybe I'll go cuter. I've got to start with a clean house. Hope you guys are enjoying this weather. There is no sun, but it's not a one bit cold. A good day for a hike!

Today's Inspiration is Noa Noa- Autumn Catalogue Photography

 Noa Noa is Palynesian for harmony and simplicity. The clothing line is simple, and elegant. Both ethnic, and harmonious Bohemian style is why the line is so popular all over Europe. The company is based out of Denmark, and most shops are located in Scandinavia, and Northern Europe. There are over 160 shops all together. The Miniature(kids) 2011 Autumn Collection is what captivated me!! The kids are so adorable! Every item of clothing looks handmade. It looks like grandma has been busy knitted each item with love. Not to mention the photography is wonderful.

Im inspired to capture every moment. Now I just need my sister to bring the kids over to play dress up. <3

Dream Henhouse

This is the dream henhouse! To the couple that built it-looks mattered as much as function. They have a tiny back yard just outside of Las Angeles, and built it themselves for $1,600 using stock building materials and hardware from Home Depot. Photos are by Ray Kachatorian on Country Living, and Heather Bullard's blog. Heather Bullard is a photo stylist who half designed the Cape Cod-inspired coop with her husband Jim. Jim is agriculture obsessed but because of her career they have to be close to a major city. Together they comprimised and built this chicken coop!

Here is another free printable download from Eat Drink Chic. The invitations are called "Let's Picnic". The invitations are designed by Amy Moss- and of course she did a great job designing... It is funny because she is an Aussie, and it is winter there. She gets through the winter dreaming of summer and giving us super cute pdf's to print off during our summer months! Super adorable. Where were these 2 weeks ago? I could have sent these out for my birthday gathering on Wednesday! It's just an excuse to plan another one right?!

DIY Party Pinwheel

If you didn't notice I took a couple of days off here to gather with family, and BBQ. I had the best time. The inspiration for today is inspired by my days off. Sunshine, organic veggie shish kabobs, kids laughing, swimming, and star shaped organic watermelon cut from cookie cutters. I need something fun, and playful. A Pinwheel!
This Pinwheel was found at Style Me Pretty blog. It was created for a "Pinwheel and Pom Poms" themed baby shower. It could be used for any occasion, and mini versions can be made for cupcake toppers, or as a gift to send kids home with. It can have the theme of the party printed on it, Or the name of the recipient to make their gift personalised. If there is assigned seating at a wedding let the pinwheel hold their place. Tons of ideas!

My Seagull Photo Collection

One of my favorite things to do is take pictures of birds(I want a guide to Northwest Bird Species)(Got it-Thanks Patti). Sadly seagulls are most times the only bird I ever get photos of. What I just found out is that there are 28 species in the U.S. and I thought, "Well they all look the same to me". Then I started comparing photos and I have seen alot of different kinds! All of these photos were taken in the same day. Wayne fed all of the birds crackers, bread, and stale Christmas caramel popcorn. It is amazing! They swoop down and hover right over you until you toss something, and they catch it in their mouth! Screw playing fetch with a dog, Try a seagull!!

Today's featured company (a.k.a. on my wish list) is Fabric & Handle. Get ready to have to wipe the saliva off your chin. I have been drooling over these for a couple of days now. Every tote bag is $39! It doesn't seem like a bad price when you can clearly see they are of good quality, and would last forever. They test every new bag for weak points, and design them with longevity in mind. Look at the second and third set of photos. They have adjustable straps! You can choose from brown or black, and thick or thin.
