Coast Cabins Christmas Adventure

Wayne and I decided that it would be a bad idea to get eachother gifts for Christmas this year. One- because we are trying to declutter our lives to eventually move into a tiny cozy cabin, and Two- because we have just about everything we need. We see the pointlessness in getting something for someone else just so they have something to open. We don't see things that way. It makes more sense to create memories, and go some place we love. We had no idea that Coast Cabins would be our destination till just the day before. All we knew is that we were going to go on vacation, and with our luck the weather would suck. For the most part it did. This is our third stay at Coast Cabins, and second time in the North Tower Cabin 3. It is 425 sq ft- simple and adorable. Inspiration for our future cabin. Our rainy day activities for the last two days have been spent building fires, soaking in the hot tub, watching movies, taking tons of pictures(over 500), made smores, chased the sun and sipped coffee. It was wonderful to just sit back warm in our tiny cabin in a bamboo forest, and listen to the waves crash in the distance. Also we eat for the most part only organic food, so alot of the food we ate we brought from home. It saved us some extra cash, which in times like these we need.

Coast Cabin's Manzanita Adventure Back In May

I mentioned a Manzanita, Oregon trip we had made back in May, but I didn't have a blog back then! I am finally posting our trip we made! It was a quick one nighter we did for my mom's Mother's Day/Birthday trip. I unfortunately did not get the days off I requested so I had to plan something last second, and this is what I came up with. My mom loves carrot cake, so naturally I bought the best one in town from Papa Haydn. If you live in the Portland area... You know. I then made the cake banner(Which she reuses! I love that). We (me, Wayne, mom & brother) went to Coast Cabins condo #7 The Laneda. It has two bedrooms, two baths, and two blocks from the beach. The condo is 1100 sq ft. The living room has 14 foot ceilings and fireplace is open to the kitchen. A sectional sofa and reclining chair, Chilean oak floors, with radiant in-floor heat throughout. Luxury amenities, Restoration towels and spa robes! This place was a dream. The perfect getaway, and I can say we will be back. My mom got to soak in the tub and relax, while me and Wayne watched the sunset.  It was probably one of the prettiest sunsets I have ever seen.

Manzanita Birthday Adventures

We are back!!

 This photo is what I ended up doing for Wayne on his birthday. I said I would do something cute since I only got to see him for half an hour. Wine, Banner, and a love letter. <3

 This is a recap of the last couple of days at Coast Cabins. It was wonderful, and as I expected went by way too fast. The bed was the comfiest thing I have ever touched. So comfortable- I took pictures of all of the tags so I can recreate this heaven at home. I also got in the hot tub twice, and havn't done that in years! The weather was perfect, and there were so many different kinds of birds chirping. I felt like we were really in nature. We saw a bald eagle pick up a crow, and take it to its nest. That's the second bald eagle I have seen in a month! We picked drift wood from Manhattan beach to create some projects.. Possibly to sell on Etsy. Wayne built a fire which he tended to for hours (Pyro), While I lounged in the sun with a rum and cranberry juice(drunk). Wayne surfed, we drank lots of coffee, made smores, got veggie pizza, went to the organic market, watched Wild Russia, and The Lincoln Lawyer.

Something I must add is they had smore kits, organic chocolate, and fruit in the cabin upon arrival. Also offered us any kind of beverage we would like and said we could take any bottle to our cabin. The owners really created a paradise, and know how to make you feel at home.

I want to do this all over again, but for a week! So expensive... Maybe we can Glamp instead!? I could lounge in a hammock with a book for a week and bird watch.



Coast Cabins Manzanita, Oregon

Coast Cabins is an intimate retreat for couples. There are 5 mini spa cabins(320 sq ft-700 sq ft) to choose from in a garden setting. There is a fire pit that is lit 24 hours a day, and at night the owners come out and serve wine and treats to their guests. Some of the cabins have out door spa-tubs that are drained and cleaned for each arriving new guest. They have luxury amenities, restoration towels, and spa robes. There are teak loungers, and charcoal barbeques. Basically everything you can think of with a simple and relaxing getaway Coast Cabins has it.  I have read all of the reviews. Not a single bad one you can find.  I took my mom here and stayed in one of their 3 condos for her birthday. And I wanted to move in and stay for life. I could really call that home. You felt it.. You don't feel that in a hotel. It had Chilean oak floors, wool carpet with radiating floor heaters, 14 foot ceilings, gas fireplace, 2 decks, 2 adorable lush bedrooms, and 2 chic bathrooms with luxury amenities. It was a good gift- and she is re-gifting it. We are heading back there next month to celebrate our birthdays(Mine is the 20th)(His is Aug 7th)!!
